Don’t focus on something you can’t change now.
Instead, think “Leading” + “Lagging” Indicators.
Lagging Indicators = what you care about, e.g.,
- No-show rate
- % of diabetes patients with HbA1c < 8%
- 5/5 patient satisfaction
Problem is, you can’t change these NOW. They happened already.
In contrast, find + focus on Leading Indicators.
Leading Indicators can be impacted NOW, and they must impact your Lagging Indicators, e.g.,
- % getting reminder calls TODAY
- % asked to fill out a survey TODAY
