My go-to framework to more robustly think through complex problems is:
“Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive” (MECE, for lack of a better name)
Take a problem: Our patient engagement is low.
By applying MECE, you could frame solutions as: [1] Potential strategies before X [2] Potential strategies after X
In other words, for MECE to apply, no strategy can be in both [1] + [2]. And, [1] + [2] encompass all possible strategies.
It’s helpful for guiding discussions. It’s helpful for individual discovery. It’s helpful to see the forest and the trees.
